PAPER FLOWERS
Project Description
These paper flowers were a part of a window installation project in collaboration with designers Matthew Peddie and Andrea Lacalamita, for UnSilent Night in Cambridge, Ontario.The event brings together community in an organised evening walk through the downtown neighbourhoods, celebrating the history of the city and the winter season. This installation transformed abandoned storefronts, responding to the unique history of each location with a reinterpretation of their origins. This storefront had accommodated a flower shop, a textiles company, and a sewing shop in its past. The window installation combined these past uses into a web of flowers stringed together with thread, forming a type of 'textile'.
